Why get a Vitamin D3 injection instead of taking pills?
When you swallow a Vitamin D pill, it has to pass through your stomach and gut. If your digestion isn’t perfect, your body often eliminates most of the vitamin before it can even absorb it.
IM Vitamin D3 repletion shot
High-dose Vitamin D3 muscle injections. Skip the digestive system and boost your immunity, bone strength, and energy directly.
Offered when a recent blood test shows your Vitamin D level is under 30. A short safety screening is required before scheduling, and your next dose is only considered after your blood work is rechecked.
When you swallow a Vitamin D pill, it has to pass through your stomach and gut. If your digestion isn’t perfect, your body often eliminates most of the vitamin before it can even absorb it.
Our clinic offers a high-potency Vitamin D3 Intramuscular (IM) Injection. “Intramuscular” simply means we give the shot directly into a muscle (usually your arm or hip). The muscle acts like a natural storage system, slowly and steadily releasing Vitamin D into your bloodstream over time.
It completely skips your gut, making it highly effective for people who are very low in Vitamin D or have trouble absorbing nutrients.
When do you need this injection?
We measure your Vitamin D levels with a standard, routine blood test. Doctors look at a specific number on your results to check your health:
01
Under 20
If your level is under 20, your body is running on empty. You need a high-dose repletion to protect your bones and immune system.
02
21 to 29
If your level is between 21 and 29, your body doesn’t have quite enough to thrive.
03
30 or higher
A healthy, normal target level is 30 or higher.
If your blood test shows your number is under 30, you are a candidate for this high-dose injection to bring your body back into balance.
Dose & schedule
We use a powerful, premium dose of 100,000 units in a single 1 cc injection. Because this is a very strong, highly effective dose, we treat it with careful medical oversight.
After you receive the shot, we will wait about 2–3 months and then run your blood work again. This 2–3-month mark is the perfect window to see exactly how much your numbers have improved.
Because Vitamin D is stored in your body’s fat cells, your body holds onto it for a long time. To keep you completely safe and protect your kidneys, we will only offer your next injection after looking at that 3-month blood test.
If your numbers are still low, we can give you another booster; if your numbers are perfect, we will transition you to a gentle maintenance plan.
Physician-directed
Start with the short safety screening. The injection is offered when a recent blood test shows your Vitamin D level is under 30, so share your recent results with the practice or ask about having your levels checked.
You can also fax recent lab results to 347·714·8685 or call 347·714·8660.

The Vitamin D3 injection is an elective, physician-directed service. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Eligibility is based on your blood work and a physician’s review, and individual results vary. If a compounded preparation is used, it is not FDA-approved.
Intramuscular injections can cause soreness, bruising or bleeding at the injection site and, rarely, infection or allergic reaction. High doses of Vitamin D can raise calcium levels, which is why blood work is rechecked before any further dose. This service does not replace care from your primary-care physician or specialist.
